Dr. Alex Rawlings set out to make his work as a GP easier by creating a system to improve long term condition management. It worked, and it delivered much more, but the limitations of electronic health records made it hard to share. He joined up with his local federation, Primary Care Sheffield, to enable others to benefit by creating Maiya.
Being on the frontline of Primary Care, they have combined their knowledge and experience to create a unique software solution that will help to overcome the major challenges currently facing Primary Care.

Maiya uses AI/RPA to automate many processes in general practice, helps reduce healthcare inequalities, free up time for healthcare professionals, optimise patient time at the practice, and much more to deliver improved quality of care to patients in need.

Need clarification?
How long does it take to implement the software?
As the programme is cloud-based, there is no direct installation process. However, there is preparatory work to enter all practice staff into the system, as well as basic training.
How did you calculate the cost effectiveness using Maiya?
This data was obtained in previous studies. We are currently working with Medipex, a healthcare innovation hub, to obtain the most up-to-date data and build an evidence base for Maiya's cost-effectiveness.
How Maiya interacts with patients?
Maiya sends patients a questionnaire via SMS and email. Based on the answers, Maiya decides what type of interaction with the patient is needed (appointment, prescription renewal, etc.)
Does Maiya interact with other programs used in practice?
Maiya is integrated with EMIS and Systmone as well as with GP Connect. Any other software does not affect the programme's operation.
